Dermal Fillers
Smooth lines, restore lost volume, and subtly enhance your natural beauty—with results tailored to your face, goals, and lifestyle.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to restore volume, smooth fine lines, and enhance facial contours. Most of the fillers we use are made from hyaluronic acid (HA)—a naturally occurring substance that hydrates and plumps the skin.
We also offer Sculptra®, a collagen-stimulating injectable that works more gradually to improve facial structure and firmness over time.
→ Add volume instantly or gradually
→ Soften wrinkles and folds
→ Define facial features
→ Boost collagen for longer-term rejuvenation
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers (Juvéderm® & Restylane®)
HA fillers like Juvéderm® and Restylane® use moisture-binding gel to instantly add volume and smoothness to the skin. These fillers are popular for their soft, natural feel and versatility. They can be used in multiple areas of the face and are reversible if needed.
Common Treatment Areas:
✔ Smile lines (nasolabial folds)
✔ Marionette lines
✔ Cheeks and mid-face
✔ Lips
✔ Chin and jawline contour
✔ Tear troughs (under-eye hollows)
Results: Immediate
Duration: 6–12 months
Downtime: Minimal
Texture: Soft, plumping, hydrating
Reversible? Yes
Sculptra® Aesthetic - Collagen Stimulator
Sculptra® is not a traditional filler. Instead of instantly adding volume, it gradually stimulates your skin’s natural collagen production to rebuild facial structure and support over time. It’s ideal for patients with volume loss, facial thinning, or those who want longer-term improvement in firmness and texture.
Best for:
✔ Cheek and temple hollowing
✔ Jawline softening
✔ General facial volume loss
✔ Skin laxity and thinning
Results: Develop over several weeks
Duration: Up to 2 years
Downtime: Minimal
Treatment Plan: Usually 2–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart
Reversible? No (since it works with your own collagen)

What to Expect
-
Your appointment will begin with a detailed consultation. The injections themselves typically take 15–30 minutes, with minimal discomfort and no anesthesia needed.
-
You may experience slight redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites—especially in more delicate areas like the lips or under eyes. These typically resolve within a few days.
-
HA fillers offer immediate results, while Sculptra® works gradually over several weeks as collagen builds.
-
HA fillers typically last 6–12 months. Sculptra can last up to 2 years with a series of treatments.
-
No. Dr. Hood’s approach is always conservative and tailored to you. Our goal is subtle enhancement that still looks like you—just refreshed and lifted.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Some bruising is possible, especially around the lips or under-eyes. We recommend avoiding blood-thinning medications and supplements (like aspirin or fish oil) 3–5 days before treatment if possible.
-
f you want immediate results or are treating lines or lips, HA fillers may be best. If you’re noticing overall facial volume loss or thinning, Sculptra may be the better option. We often combine both for a more comprehensive result.
-
HA fillers can be reversed with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Sculptra is not reversible, which is why we approach treatment conservatively and over time.
-
When performed by a licensed and experienced medical professional, dermal fillers are very safe. Dr. Hood uses only FDA-approved products and follows best-practice injection techniques to ensure the most natural and safe outcomes. During your consultation, we’ll review your health history and treatment plan to ensure you’re a good candidate.
